A World Without Planned Parenthood

I remember a few months ago I watched a video parodying the kind of outrage that Planned Parenthood receives on a daily basis. While portraying a very dark, angry feeling about the organization, the remarks however were talking about the positive things patients experienced, in which lies the humor. The video was posted by the YouTube channel, Funny or Die, and it is called, The Shocking Truth About Planned Parenthood.
The video made me feel very disturbed that people out there do not see Planned Parenthood as not only a necessity, but as a huge benefit for the lives of so many, and not just women. Currently, there are far fewer locations for Planned Parenthood in order to fully provide for all the people who could benefit from their services. So, while I realize some people already deal with not having Planned Parenthood as an option for healthcare services, there are so many other people who go to these clinics and would suffer physically, mentally, and financially without their existence.
What I thought would be a good idea to demonstrate the effect of not being able to turn to Planned Parenthood, would be a video of several situations in which people have no where to turn to. These situations are based off of real life experiences of people who were able to have their problems solved or mediated through Planned Parenthood’s intervention.

While I would have loved to include more situations, and a larger variety of people of different races, genders, and sexualities, I was able to nonetheless create a video portraying several kinds of problems people go to Planned Parenthood for help with. The things that Planned Parenthood provides for its patients, that I have included in my video are breast exams and referrals for mammograms, birth control pills, access to condoms, exams for STD’s and STI’s, and family practice services.
